This Inuit name means “Snow Angles” which I felt was a fitting title for this wonderful pair of polar bears. Captured back in the fall of 2021, while on assignment for Polar Bears International, these were the first days with significant snowfall in the region, much later than usual for the time of year. There was a feeling of excitement in the air that everyone shared in, both humans and bears alike! Up until this day, for almost two weeks, the bear's behaviour was much more subdued. The fresh snowfall and sharp drop in temperature brought a rise in the activity level of the bears. This pair here spent over an hour frolicking in the snow with one another, a very happy and playful experience for them.
