In the blink of an eye, mountains rise and fall from the murky depths of Lake Erie. In 1913 one of the most powerful and destructive storm systems hit the Great Lakes region. While researching famous storms that unleashed their power on the lakes, I found in numerous articles, many folks referencing the saying ‘Bane of the Great Lakes’ I felt this would make a nice fit for a title. Many of my image titles in my Liquid Mountains series have some connection, or reference tied into the history, folklore and indigenous tradition.
